The power reserve indicator markings run along the indices from the 12 o'clock position up to slightly past the 4 o'clock position. Like all of our watches, this Seiko Presage Automatic Stainless Steel Blue Dial Date Womens Watch is brand new and comes in its original packaging. The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. By 1892, Seikosha was formed (In Japanese, Seiko means exquisite, minute or success and sha means house) which eventually changed to its current Seiko in 1924. Today, after more than 140 years of innovation and many industry firsts including the introduction of the world's first quartz watch in 1969, the Seiko Quartz Astron. Kintaro Hattori’s company together with its many subsidiaries and co-brands including Lorus, Pulsar and Alba is still dedicated to the perfection that the founder always strove to achieve.
